Great Summer for Movies! - 2007/07/18 07:27 This thread discusses the Content article: Great Summer for Movies!

Make it the new poll =D 'Best Summer Movie' Course I'd also like to add the Harry Potter movie as it is awesome, but I don't know if everyone likes the HP movies here.
I'm gonna critically kick you in the dick.

Re:Great Summer for Movies! - 2007/07/18 07:39 I'd like to do that too, but as you mentioned Harry Potter, I can also think of other potentially good movies I have not seen this summer. So before I could do such a poll I need some help making sure I don't forget any movies.

  • Spider Man 3

  • Pirates

  • Transformers

  • Die Hard

  • Ratatouille

  • Harry Potter

  • Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Movie... wait kidding. Still hilarious though

  • Shrek the Third ?

Now I haven't seen Ratatouille or Shrek, or Surf's Up for that matter so I can't comment on their goodness thus if they should even be on the list. Now, I'm willing to add Harry Potter to the list because it is an established successful movie franchise at this point - but I'm not seeing it. I've missed one, if not two Harry Potter movies before it so I see no reason to go and see that one yet, especially not for theater price. I'm sure it's at least decent though.

Re:Great Summer for Movies! - 2007/07/18 20:07 Ratatouille I'd really like to see, been hearing good stuff about it. Shrek was... all right. It was enjoyable but nowhere near as good as previous installments. I wouldn't put it up on the poll personally. I'd also like to see Surf's Up since it looks really good as well.

You could put these movies up for now and then perhaps later near the end of summer, or at least when we know all the good movies are out, you could put up another one, then pit the top 3 or so of each poll in a final round.

In other movie news, it sounds like the "trilogy fad" is finally getting out of the movie studios. It sounds like the newest thing is bringing back our old school cartoons. Besides Transformers which is already out, I've seen and heard of Alvin and the Chipmunks, Carebears, Underdog, Thundercats, and more being made. I guess this is slightly better. I mean at least it's something semi-new and not another freaking sequel fest.
I'm gonna critically kick you in the dick.

Re:Great Summer for Movies! - 2007/07/31 20:23 I know it's a little late by now, but seeing ads for the DVD made me remember Hot Fuzz. And that was an awesome movie. You’re what keeps me believing this world’s not gone dead

Re:Great Summer for Movies! - 2007/08/01 02:05 Got to see Ratatouille the other day. Pretty good! A very cute and fun movie to watch, though I was a little disappointed on the lack of humor in the film. While definitely hilarious at times, it seemed to be lacking in the normal dose of funny that Pixar brings us. I blame Disney.

Also, while speaking of movies, 300 is now out on DVD. BUY IT.
I'm gonna critically kick you in the dick.
